Today marks the end of our weekend-long event, BostonFIG Talks & Learns Virtual! Like our virtual Fest, we used Gather as our platform.

Here’s a brief look at the space setup:

We had an incredible lineup of talks with truly wonderful speakers. One of the joys for me of the virtual format was that I actually got to see a LOT of the talks! (Normally I’m stuck at a booth managing registration or merch or both!)

Let’s do the numbers!

We had 38 speakers and 179 registered attendees for a total of 217 individuals. Some speakers also registered for tickets so let’s call it an even 200. The max number of people I saw concurrently online at any given time was ~65.

Of the tickets registered, 49 people opted to donate, which is about 25% of attendees. The average donation was $12.83 for those 49 people; which means the average revenue per user was about $3.14.

Our total revenue for the event was $1303.25, with sponsors chipping in about half of that. Our costs were $550. That means our net profit was $753.50! For a first-time virtual event, we call that a great success.

Thank you

HUGE thanks to our amazing sponsors, FableVision and massDiGI, who’ve always been incredible supporters of BostonFIG’s programming and events. Thanks also to our amazing speakers, and to the whole community for your support! Expect videos from all the talks to go up next week!
